Raising Prayer Across The State
1 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. 3 This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
A pastor from western Nebraska asked if the churches around the state could partner together to better fulfill this call to prayer. He observed what took place during the 2023 Legislative session, received the prayer requests from a senator's prayer gathering, and was challenged that we, as the church in Nebraska, could and should fulfill this commission.
We are inviting churches across the state to pray for our leaders, both locally and those serving in Lincoln. There are two sign-up calendars - one for churches from the Lincoln/Omaha area and one church from outside the metropolitan area. Sign up below for your church's day to pray - as a congregation - for our leaders, especially the senators.
