Prayer Requests from the Senator's Prayer Meeting

1)  Pray for Nebraskans to remain safe during this week's severe cold spell.  Pray especially for the homeless and our homeless shelters.

2)  Please pray for Sen. Clements and the members of the Appropriations Committee as they refine the State's biennial budget and balance the budget with the state's revenue resources.

3) Thank the Lord for a good attendance at this year's Right to Life Breakfast.  Despite the severe cold weather, attendance was 80% compared to last year.

4) Thank the Lord for Sen. Raybould's health this year and pray for her continued good health. Last year, Sen Raybould fought cancer.

5) Please pray for healing for Rick Sanders, the husband of Sen. Rita Sanders, who has cancer.  

Prayer Requests from the Senator's Prayer Meeting

1) Please ask God to relieve Ann Marie Hess of tinnitus.

2) Please ask God to relieve Kara of migraine headaches.

3) Please ask God to heal Bob Lammers, who suffered a heart attack.

4) Please ask God to soften the heart of Laurie towards the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Laurie is hostile to Christianity.

5) Please ask God to increase the attendance at the Nebraska Prayer Group, especially during the months of February and March when hearings are being conducted.

Prayer Requests from the Senator's Prayer Meeting

1) Please continue to pray for healing for Gov. Jim Pillen.

2) The mother of Sen. Margo Juarez (LD5) has passed away.  Please pray for God's comfort for her and her family.

3) The sister-in-law of Sen. Glen Meyer has passed away.  The funeral is tomorrow (Feb. 5).  Please pray for God's comfort for Sen. Meyer, his brother, and the extended family.

Prayer Requests from the Senator's Prayer Meeting

1) Sen. Lippincott has three hearings on three very controversial bills later this week.  Please pray that he will be well rested and well prepared for each public hearing and that the hearings will go well.

2)  Several religious liberty bills have been introduced and referenced to the Education Committee this year.  Please pray that the cause of religious liberty within our schools will move forward legislatively this year. 

Committee assignments have taken place.  Bills are being submitted for this session.  

There have been protesters at the capitol protesting bills being presented.

This week will be the first Senators Prayer and also the first Senators Bible study for the year. (two different meetings)

Please pray that our new senators will make it a priority to seek Gods wisdom in prayer and study of the word together.

Senator Clements shared this prayer request.  As Chairman of the Appropriations Committee , he asks we pray that God will him as he leads the work of addressing the $432 Million shortfall in the budget.

Yesterday, Lincoln Pastors, ministry leaders, and capitol staff met to pray for the 2025 legislative session. 

Please pray for our senators, especially for the 17 incoming senators this year.

Pray for the working relationship they will have with their staff (all of which are experienced staff from former senators).  

Pray for a senator's recovery from a stroke that was experienced on Jan 1st.

Pray for Govenor Pillen and his recovery from a horse riding accident and the surgery that was a result of the broken ribs.

Pray for a peaceful session.

Pray that churches will commit to sign up for a day to pray for our leaders.
